Inland
Empire Residential Centers, Inc. was founded in 1986 by Very Reverend
Father Peter P. Staviski. He served as our Executive Director until his
semi-retirement in 2001. Father
Peter has been working in the group home field since 1972 when he founded
Father Peters Community Schools, Inc. now Target Community Schools, Inc. a
non public, special education school grades K-8 for emotionally disturbed
and Learning Handicapped children.
He
coined our motto "Building a
child prevents mending a man.”

As
an Orthodox priest, Father Peter has made it his ministry to help these
boys for the last 35 years. Although working in the secular world of the
non-profit organizations, he has successfully managed to model universal
values such as self-control, honesty, responsibility, caring and integrity
to these very special boys.

We
are deeply indebted to Fr. Peter for the foundation he established so many
years ago. Fr. Peter's foresight, business skills, commitment to children
and a whole lot of faith have continued to make our programs a great place
for boys to learn and grow. It is this extraordinary combination of
qualities that exemplifies our founder and makes us proud to work with him.
We are grateful that he continues to consult with us. Father Peter continues to serve as
Executive Director of Target Community Schools, Inc.
We
hope to have the benefit of his wisdom and experience for many years and
wish him lots of much deserved "cruising" time with his lovely
wife Charlotte.
